This house craft is perfect for Halloween, but you can make it anytime. It’s easy to make: color, cut, fold, punch a hole, and glue. There are several empty windows, so the kids can draw whatever they want in the windows; a hand, hat, hair, horse… In a haunted house, everything is spooky.
PLAY A READING GAME: SOMEONE’S AT THE DOOR
Use the house to play a reading game. Play SOMEONE’S AT THE DOOR. Stack phonetic word cards (nouns work the best) in front of the house. Take turns choosing a card and reading the word. For example, the word is fan. Read the word. Then say, in a scared voice, “Oh no, a fan is at the door!” This game is lots of fun!
